Angels' Peter Bourjos 'moving in the right direction', takes BP

Angels' outfielder Peter Bourjos took batting practice yesterday in the batting cage for the first time since he suffered a fractured right wrist on June 29th.

Jeff Fletcher of the OC Register spoke with Bourjos after he stepped out of the cages:

It's still uncertain how soon Bourjos will make a return to the big leagues this season, and the Angels will not rush him. The Halos suffered three back-to-back walk-off home runs against the Texas Rangers and look to be way out of contention in the AL West.

Rushing back their young stud in Bourjos and possibly re-aggravating the injury is the last thing the Angels want. He's already missed a significant amount of time while on the disabled list this season with multiple injuries and the Halos want to make sure he's 100% before he steps back onto a diamond.
