It remains unclear where free agent Kyle Lohse will
ultimately land this offseason, as the Pittsburgh Pirates and Atlanta Braves
are the latest teams that are reportedly uninterested in the right-hander.
While he believes Lohse would be a “great fit” for the
Pirates, Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports says the Bucs don’t appear to be pursuing
the veteran. Pittsburgh currently has a projected starting staff that includes
A.J. Burnett, Wandy Rodriguez, James McDonald, Francisco Liriano and Jeff
Karstens, though the ladder two come with health concerns.

The Braves will be without Brandon Beachy for the first part
of the season as he continues to recover from Tommy John surgery, but they are
also not interested in Lohse at this time, according to David O’Brien of The
Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Tim Hudson and Kris Medlen lead Atlanta’s
projected rotation, which also includes Paul Maholm and Mike Minor. At this
point, top young arm Julio Teheran is expected to be the team’s No. 5 starter.
