Anthony Swarzak Rib Injury the Result of Horseplay

The Minnesota Twins held their TwinsFest the last weekend in January, where fans and players (past and present) meet and participate in activities baseball and /or Twins related.   Apparently not ALL the news coming out of that homage to all things Twins is wonderful.

Aaron Rupar of the Minnesota Star-Tribune reports that the injury sustained by Anthony Swarzak was the result of rowdy play amongst teammates at a post-festival party Friday night, January 25.

"Some of the fellas got together on that Friday night (Jan. 25), and they started wrestling around a little bit. It was just horseplay," general manager Terry Ryan said. "Anthony apparently [took an] impact, and ultimately, he cracked a couple of ribs."

He did not name the other participants.  Swarzak is expected to miss a month.  Evidently, this group spent the day wowing the kids who came out to meet them, and the night acting like kids themselves.
