After speculation that Alex Rodriguez's delayed surgery could cost him the entire 2013 season, Rodriguez, the New York Yankees, and doctors have set a date. Rodriguez was prescribed a regimen of prehabilitation - essentially physical therapy designed to strengthen the hip before surgery. That prehab or pre-conditioning pushed the surgery date back.
According to Brian Hoch of MLB.com, Rodriguez is scheduled to have surgery on January 16th. The fact that it took so long for Rodriguez to prep for the surgery has caused there to be a real possibility that he may miss the entire 2013 season.
Alex Rodriguez's surgery is scheduled for Jan. 16.Rodriguez struggled throughout the 2012 season and was horrible in the playoffs. The likely culprit was his hip, but even when doctors examined him after Rodriguez complained, nothing was done. Unfortunately, that may cost the Yankees and Rodriguez in the short-term and the long-term.
