The Philadelphia Phillies and San Francisco Giants are among
the teams interested in free agent middle infielder Ryan Theriot, according to
Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
Heyman notes that if the Giants were to acquire Theriot, he
would likely compete with Brandon Crawford for playing time at shortstop.
Theriot would be middle-infield insurance for the Phillies, who have veterans
Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley manning shortstop and second base.
Theriot hit .270/.316/.321 with 16 doubles and one triple
over 352 at-bats for the Giants last season. The 33-year-old owns a career line
of .281/.341/.350 over eight seasons at the major league level.

I hope Theriot stays with the Giants but he would compliment any roster that he plays for. Even as a secondary player he was intrumental in the Giants success.
ReplyDeleteHe has that quality everywhere he plays. It's interesting that he continues to be a year by year guy.
