The Baltimore Orioles are pursuing Arizona Diamondbacks
outfielder Jason Kubel, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.
Sources: #Orioles pursuing trade for #Diamondbacks' Kubel. Talks not at advanced stage. Orioles also like #Tigers' Porcello.

Rosenthal adds that discussions between the Orioles and
Diamondbacks have yet to reach an advanced stage. He also notes that the
Orioles are interested in Detroit Tigers right-hander Rick Porcello, though it
would be unlikely for the team to acquire both players.
The Diamondbacks are reportedly weighing an offer for
outfielder Justin Upton from the Atlanta Braves. They are hoping to trade one
of Upton or Kubel in the next few days, according to reports, though it remains
to be determined which player will be moved.
Baltimore discussed Kubel with the Diamondbacks earlier this
offseason, and at the time Arizona was interested in Baltimore’s young pitching.
This list of potential targets includes Chris Tillman, Brian Matusz, Zach
Britton, Jake Arrieta and Steve Johnson. The Orioles are extremely unlikely to
trade top prospect Dylan Bundy for anyone, much less Kubel.
Rosenthal later expanded his list of Orioles targets to
include free agent Joe Saunders and Chicago Cubs slugger Alfonso Soriano.
Baltimore has been tied to Saunders for much of the offseason, while Rosenthal
lists Soriano as the team’s least likely acquisition.
