Marlins Rumors: Miami Should Trade Giancarlo Stanton

There have been varying rumors surrounding the Miami Marlins and outfielder Giancarlo Stanton. They’ve ranged from the team being willing to listen to offers on Stanton to there being a nearly no chance that the slugger gets moved this winter. That being said, Hal Bodley of MLB.com believes the Marlins should trade Stanton; the sooner the better.

The Miami Marlins should trade Giancarlo Stanton -- the sooner, the better.
By making this trade now, and assuming the return is as awesome as it should be, Miami's return to contention would be accelerated.

Bodley says that a Stanton trade would expedite the Marlins’ rebuilding effort. He also believes the team “won’t win that many more games in 2013” with Stanton in their lineup. While Bodley knows it’s not what suffering Marlins’ fans want to hear, but he believes a trade is the best move for the organization.

Stanton hit .290/.361/.608 with 30 doubles and 37 home runs last season for Miami, and the 23-year-old owns a career OPS of .903 over three years in the majors.
