of signing right-handed reliever Rafael Soriano, according to Buster Olney of
ESPN.

Olney adds that it’s still a longshot that the Dodgers sign
Soriano, putting the chances of a deal at roughly 20 percent.
The Dodgers have already made significant additions to their
bullpen this offseason, as they’ve signed free agents Brandon League and J.P.
Howell. Beyond these acquisitions, the Dodgers have a corps of relievers that
also includes Kenley Jansen, Javy Guerra and Matt Guerrier.
While this would appear to be more than enough, this is the
Dodgers we’re talking about. Los Angeles has added Zack Greinke and Hyun-Jin
Ryu to an already-full starting rotation that included the likes of Clayton
Kershaw.
Soriano maintained an ERA of 2.26 with 9.2 strikeouts and
3.2 walks per nine innings last season for the New York Yankees filling in for
injured closer Mariano Rivera.
