The Diamondbacks are discussing outfielder Jason Kubel with
the Baltimore Orioles, and Arizona is seeking young pitchers from the O’s in
return, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. However, to this point, Heyman says
that Baltimore is “disinclined to do that.”

After signing Cody Ross earlier this offseason, the
Diamondbacks are said to be looking to trade one of their extras. There have
been rumors that Arizona would rather move Kubel than Justin Upton.
The Orioles have been seeking a bat all offseason. While
their primary target seems to be first base, general manager Dan Duquette may
have to get creative to add an impact bat to his lineup.
The Orioles have young pitching to offer, perhaps none in
higher demand than right-hander Chris Tillman. Beyond Tillman, Baltimore has
Zach Britton, Steve Johnson and Brian Matusz.
