Cubs Rumors: Alfonso Soriano to Phillies?

The Chicago Cubs should be getting some offers for their 37-year-old outfielder Alfonso Soriano. The Philadelphia Phillies would be a perfect destination for Soriano considering that they are looking for some outfield help.

KenRosenthal of FOX Sports reports that the Phillies GM Ruben Amaro is seeking some outfield help to make his team into more of a contender in the NL East. John Mayberry and Domonic Brown are the corner outfielders as it stands right now and if the Phillies want to be a contender in the division they need to get some more talent in the outfield.

Soriano hit .262 in 2012 with 32 home runs and 108 RBI’s in his sixth season with the dreadful Cubs. Having hit over 20 home runs for the last 11 consecutive seasons, Soriano seems to be a great fit in Philadelphia. He will come relatively cheap too, for somewhere around $5 million dollars for the next couple years. The Cubs would most likely like some pitching in return and the Phillies have some young prospects that would be more than enough to get Soriano to Philadelphia. Soriano’s power bat could be some big help to the Phillies' outfield problems.
