Heyman notes that the package of players heading to Arizona
has been agreed upon, but the trade is pending Upton's physical. The
Diamondbacks will receive Randall Delgado, Martin Prado, Nick Ahmed and Zeke
Spruill, while the Braves get Upton and third baseman Chris Johnson.
The deal means that Justin will join his brother B.J. Upton,
who the Braves signed earlier this winter, and Jason Heyward in Atlanta's
outfield. The trio combined to account for 168 extra-base hits, including
72 home runs, and 70 stolen bases in 92 attempts last season.
It also means that the Diamondbacks have eased their logjam
in the outfield. Prior to the trade, Arizona's roster included Upton, Cody
Ross, Jason Kubel and Gerardo Parra.
