The Zack Greinke sweepstakes appear to have come down to two
teams, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers, reports Jon Heyman of CBS
Sports.

Yesterday it was reported that the Dodgers are “determined”
to sign Greinke this winter. They’ve been tied to multiple pitchers as they attempt
to boost their starting rotation and none available on the free agent market are
more highly regarded than Greinke.
The Rangers also have a need for starting pitching, and they
have significant money potentially coming off the books this winter. They’ve
already lost Mike Napoli to the Boston Red Sox, and there’s also the chance
that free agent outfielder Josh Hamilton signs elsewhere.
Over 34 starts with the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles
Angels last season Greinke maintained an ERA and WHIP of 3.48 and 1.196. In
nine seasons at the major league level the 29-year-old owns an ERA and WHIP of
3.77 and 1.247 with 8.0 strikeouts and 2.3 walks per nine innings.
