Minnesota Twins left-hander Scott Diamond underwent arthroscopic surgery to remove a bone chip from his throwing elbow last Tuesday.  Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports that the procedure was done in New York by Dr. David Altchek.

Twins GM Terry Ryan spoke about the 26-year-old who led the Twins in starts (27), innings (173), and victories (12) in 2012, his first full major league campaign.  ""He'll be ready for Spring Training," Ryan said. "But he will not participate in the World Baseball Classic."



The native of Guelph, Ontario is expected to be the only holdover in a revamped Minnesota rotation. Ryan has acquired Vance Worley, Kevin Correia, Rich Harden, and Mike Pelfrey via trades and/or free agency this off-season, the latter two recovering from injuries as well.

Diamond came to the Twins as a Rule 5 draftee from the Atlanta Braves organization following the 2010 season.
