After losing out on starting pitcher Zack Greinke to the Los
Angeles Dodgers, the Texas Rangers are still said to have interest in trading
for Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Justin Upton, according to Ken Rosenthal of
FOX Sports, and could also target free agents, including Josh Hamilton, Michael
Bourn, Anibal Sanchez and Kyle Lohse, reports Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

Prior to the Greinke signing, it was reported that the
Rangers’ ideal offseason would have had them signing the right-hander and
trading for an outfielder such as Upton. If they continue to follow this
formula, it would seem that Texas will look to sign a free agent arm and
acquire an outfielder via trade.
That would mean that Hamilton is still not guaranteed to
wind up back in Texas even though Greinke’s off the board. The Rangers were
reportedly only able to sign one of the two top free agents, but they may be
more interested in targeting an arm in free agency than a bat.
