The Cleveland Indians are “continuing aggressive pursuit” of
free agent outfielder Nick Swisher, reports Jim Bowden of ESPN. Beyond the
Indians, the Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners, Texas
Rangers and Baltimore Orioles are all interested in Swisher, according to Mark
Feinsand of the New York Daily News.

@yagottagotomo Indians, Phillies, Red Sox, Mariners, Rangers and Orioles all interested in Swisher. Big market for switch-hitting power OF.

Bowden notes that Swisher would represent a replacement for
recently traded right fielder Shin-Soo Choo for the Indians. Cleveland dealt
Choo and Jason Donald in the recent three-team trade with the Cincinnati Reds
and Arizona Diamondbacks.
Considering the level of interest Swisher is receiving, it
would make sense that he signs for something close to his reported target of
five or six years at $60 million-plus.
Last season for the New York Yankees Swisher hit
.272/.364/.473 with 36 doubles and 24 home runs.
