Dodgers Rumors: LA Targeting Kevin Youkilis, Anibal Sanchez?

No one believes the Los Angeles Dodgers are done spending, and the team could next turn its attention to veteran corner infielder Kevin Youkilis or right-hander Anibal Sanchez, according to Danny Knobler of CBS Sports.

No one believes the Dodgers are done spending, and the only question is who the next beneficiary will be.
Two possibilities who have been discussed, according to sources: Kevin Youkilis and Anibal Sanchez.

Knobler notes that Youkilis “seems to be a better fit” than Sanchez, especially since the team has an opening at the hot corner with the announcement that Hanley Ramirez will play shortstop in 2013. While Luis Cruz is an in-house option for the Dodgers to consider, Youkilis would be a more proven and surer-bet to a team that is being built with championship aspirations.

Sanchez, on the other hand, could be “more of a longshot” for Los Angeles, as they’ve already added Zack Greinke and Hyun-Jin Ryu to a rotation that already included Clayton Kershaw, Josh Beckett, Chad Billingsley, Ted Lilly, Chris Capuano and Aaron Harang.

If the Dodgers are to acquire another pitcher, they would likely first have to trade one of their own arm. LA has made it clear that veterans Capuano and Harang are “very available,” according to Knobler, so another acquisition is still possible.
