O’Brien adds that Hairston could become too pricey for the Braves, especially considering the New York Yankees and other teams have expressed interest in the outfielder. Beyond the Braves and Yankees, the New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians have all been tied to Hairston this offseason.
Hairston posted solid numbers, especially in the power department, for the Mets last season. Over 377 at-bats the 32-year-old hit .263/.299/.504 with 25 doubles, three triples, 20 home runs and eight stolen bases in 10 attempts. He owns a career line of .247/.302/.449 over nine seasons at the major league level.
