The Los Angeles Angels were once one of the team’s favored
to sign right-hander Zack Greinke this offseason, but after falling out of the
sweepstakes it is “very unlikely” the club makes a last minute effort to ink
the free agent, reports Jim Bowden of ESPN.
According to a source there will be no last minute strike by the Angels to land Greinke like they did last year for Pujols.."VERY UNLIKELY"

Entering the offseason the Angels traded away Ervin Santana
to the Kansas City Royals and let right-hander Dan Haren walk, opting not to
exercise his option for 2013. The thought was that Los Angeles was preparing to
make a concentrated effort to re-sign Greinke.
Instead, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers are now
sitting as the likely landing spots for Greinke. The Angels haven’t been
inactive, as they’ve traded Jordan Walden for Tommy Hanson and signed veteran
Joe Blanton, but the players they acquired are not in the same neighborhood as
Greinke.
