The Los Angeles Dodgers are rumored to be the favorite to
sign right-hander Zack Greinke, and they took the first step in that process
yesterday as they met with the free agent, reports Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports.
The Dodgers met Thursday with Zack Greinke. They're very serious about signing him, and this looks like the start of it.

Entering the offseason the Dodgers were just listed among
the potential suitors of Greinke, but the other LA club was considered the
frontrunner to sign him. The Angels traded Ervin Santana to the Kansas City
Royals and let Dan Haren walk in an effort to free up space to re-sign Greinke.
However, according to a recent report, the Angels are now on
the outside looking in when it comes to Greinke while the Dodgers are favored
to acquire the top-of-the-rotation starter.
Greinke’s demands could be record-setting, as his reported
$150 million asking price would give him the highest salary of any right-handed
starting pitcher. The Dodgers have shown their willing to spend money, and
according to Brown they are “very serious” about signing the free agent.
