The Boston Red Sox have inquired on free agent right-hander
Kyle Lohse, remain interested in outfielder Josh Hamilton and “made a really
strong push” to sign veteran starter Hiroki Kuroda before he re-upped with the New
York Yankees, reports Rob Bradford of WEEI.com.
Heard from yet another source that #RedSox made a really strong push on Kuroda. Potentially important AL East swing #emphasisonpotentially

The Red Sox have called about Lohse, but considering he’s 34
years old he may be out of Boston’s age range, reports Nick Cafardo of the
Boston Globe. At the three-year commitment he seeks he could be a “risky” investment
for the club.
General manager Ben Cherington told Jim Bowden of ESPN that
the Red Sox are “still pursuing” free agent outfielder Josh Hamilton, who he
called “a terrific talent.” Boston has a void in the outfielder with Cody Ross
hitting the open market.
