The Chicago Cubs, Arizona Diamondbacks and Tampa Bay Rays
had all been “aggressive” suitors for free agent infielder Jeff Keppinger
before he broke his leg, reports Buster Olney of ESPN.
Three teams that had been aggressive on Jeff Keppinger before he broke his leg were the Cubs, Diamondbacks and Rays.

Keppinger recently broke his right fibula after tripping
down a flight of stairs at his home. Despite the injury, the 32-year-old plans
on being ready to return by mid-January.
Keppinger signed with the Rays last offseason and hit .325/.367/.439
with 15 doubles, one triple and nine home runs over 385 at-bats. He owns a
career line of .288/.337/.396 over eight seasons at the major league level and
has experience manning each infield position.
