The San Francisco Giants and former closer Brian Wilson are “not
exactly seeing eye to eye” when it comes to contract talks, and the club could
non-tender the right-hander later this week, reports Henry Schulman of the San
Francisco Chronicle.
From what I hear, Wilson and the team are not exactly seeing eye to eye.
Wilson missed a majority of the 2012 season after undergoing
his second Tommy John surgery of his career last spring. He’s said he expects
to be ready to go when the Giants begin spring training 2013, and he’s yet to
experience any setbacks in his rehab.
Still, the Giants and Wilson are not seeing eye to eye when
it comes to his next contract. Because he earned $8.5 million last season, the
least amount of money San Francisco can offer Wilson is $6.8 million. This isn’t
a commitment they’re interested in making, which would lead to his being
non-tendered by the club.
If he is let go, Wilson would become a free agent and could
sign with whatever club he chooses. He would have the option of re-signing with
the Giants, but if negotiations don’t go well he is likely to explore his
market first.

Would love to see BW back but not worth the cost. The G's proved they could win without him which lowered his stock. Besides, I don't think anyone "fears the beard" any longer!
