Blue Jays Rumors: Toronto Eyeing Edwin Jackson, Anibal Sanchez?

We learned last week that the Toronto Blue Jays may be targeting one more starting pitcher even after their blockbuster deal with the Miami Marlins brought in elite arms Josh Johnson and Mark Buehrle. It appears that the Blue Jays may not target just any arms, but those at the top of the market as Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald reports two free agents “that could come into play” are Anibal Sanchez and Edwin Jackson.

Also, keep an eye on the Blue Jays on the starting pitching front, even with the additions of Johnson and Buehrle. Two free agents that could come into play there are Anibal Sanchez and Edwin Jackson.

The Blue Jays fell out of the American League East race in a hurry last season once their young pitching staff became depleted due to injuries. They were reportedly focusing on bolstering their rotation this offseason, and they’ve already done so in a big way by bringing in Johnson and Buehrle. Another top free agent arm could make Toronto that much more formidable entering the 2013 season.

    1. They are both free agents so the Jays do not have to give anything up to the Tigers.
