The Washington Nationals and Philadelphia Phillies, two
teams known to be in the market for a center fielder this winter, have met with
free agent B.J. Upton, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports and Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post.

The Phillies traded center fielder Shane Victorino over the
summer and are left seeking his long-term replacement this offseason. The team
has been tied to Upton and fellow free agent center fielder Michael Bourn and
is a likely landing spot for one of the two high-profile targets.
The Nationals have also been tied to Upton and Bourn as they
continue their search for a center fielder. Washington has been on the hunt for
some time now, and they ultimately used rookie Bryce Harper in center last
season. However, the phenom projects as a corner outfielder down the road.
